Statement Supporting Administration’s National Biodefense Plans
Syra Madad issued the following statement on two Biden Administration biodefense plans: the National Biodefense Strategy and Implementation Plan and the National Security Memorandum on Countering Biological Threats, Enhancing Pandemic Preparedness, and Achieving Global Health Security.
"The time is NOW to work towards preventing future bio-catastrophes. The new National Biodefense Strategy is bold, ambitious, and target driven and is what this nation needs to strengthen our security and biodefenses against future pandemics and biological threats. I urge Congress to make the requested funding available. The world is at war with biological threats, and we must fund it like so."
