Biography

Lieutenant Colonel Nathan Chernecke is an Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) Aviation Officer for the Army Reserve. Nathan is a native of Washington State but has lived all over the West and East coasts over the course of his life and Career. He enlisted in the US Army as a 19D Cavalry Scout in 1995 and upon release in 1998, he joined Texas Army National Guard as a 19K Tank Crewman but was soon recommended for Officer Candidate School in 2001.  He commissioned as an Army Aviation second lieutenant and then attended Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Benning, GA followed by Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training and Aviation Officer Basic Course at Fort Rucker, Alabama.  As an honor graduate, he was awarded the Army Aviator Badge.    

Lieutenant Colonel Chernecke has progressed through military assignment as Company Executive Officer, two company commands, Battalion Assistant S3, Battalion S4 and Executive Officer, Integrations Branch Chief, Executive Officer to the USAREUR DCG M&RA, Brigade S4 and Executive Officer, and Battalion Commander. Lieutenant Colonel Chernecke is a Master Aviator and has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Lieutenant Colonel Chernecke earned a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering (Cum Laude) from University of Houston, Houston, TX and a master’s in business administration from Webster University.
