Biography

Calvin Heng is an aspiring Arctic researcher and a recent graduate of Harvard’s Regional Studies—East Asia program. Deeply concerned about Arctic sustainability, he hopes to contribute his historical training by exploring ways through which Arctic peace could be restored and preserved.

At the Arctic Initiative, he was a research assistant for Postdoctoral Research Fellow Eyck Freymann. Their interdisciplinary work mainly involved applying historical methods and knowledge to better understand contemporary geopolitical and diplomatic issues with an eye to improving foreign policy approaches.
