Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla is a UAE national, a retired professor of political science, member of Emirati Thinkers, and member of the Executive Council of the Gulf Forum. He was a former Chairman of the Arab Council for Social Science and served as director of the Gulf Research Unit.

His research interests include political changes in the Gulf and the Arab World. He regularly comments on international television, writes op-eds, and is the author of several books including The Gulf Moment (2019) and The Story of Politics (2022).  He has published numerous articles, the latest of which are the “Rise of the UAE as a Middle East Powerhouse” and “Civic Culture and the Peak of Globalization.”

Professor Abdulla was a Fulbright Scholar, a visiting professor at the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University, and a senior fellow at the London School of Economics. He holds PhD in Political Science from Georgetown University and master’s degree from American University.
